Tell-U-Ride

March 1st, 2010

Few, its my last few hours in Telluride Colorado, and its been quite the adventure.  Let loose in a well provided for and party ski town has been an eye opening experience to say the least.  I think it could be summed up by the conversation I encountered on my ride back to town in the Gondola.  I sat with five other people and listened to them discuss the ski mountains that their private airplanes could reach.  Trying not to give my amusement away, I made eye contact with a mountain employee, and we both had to cover our mouths and hide our giggles.  Few!

In the end, I am walking away from the experience with an appreciation for my parents.  I remarked to my father that the trip to Telluride reminded me of our venture to Alexandria, Egypt, Christmas 2007, as it ended with a van ride through the mountains that hearkened our ride across the desert.  All my life, I have been handed incredible travel opportunities that have cost me little to nothing.  This was never more evident than today when I helped an older woman get out of her cross country skis, and she asked me how I learned.  “It was part of our P.E. curriculum in South Dakota,” I informed her, and saw the value of my experience compared to the lesson she payed for.

This trip to God’s country was covered by a grant I won through the Telluride AIDS Benefit organization, and I am thankful for it.  Here are a few of my trip, photos from the actual show will come with some editing (runway photography is tricky!)

Today I head out to Colorado for the annual Telluride AIDS Benefit Fashion Show! This is exciting because it is the first time my line will be showing, and I won a grant! Yep all expenses paid to go see my work on the runway! Wish me luck!  I’ll update with photos of the trip!

Color Theory

February 8th, 2010

For me, color theory is a visual representation of the existential existance and releativity of the individuals of the world.  In other words, its how I think about things.   This is a visual time line of the colors Crayola has introduced, which shows that the number of hues double every 28 years.  That’s pretty incredible to a self proclaimed color expert (I can give you the pigment formula for any color).  Stop and give a moment to your favorite box of crayons.I would love to see a comparison to belton, the leading high end spray paint manufacture.

the finer things in life

February 4th, 2010

sometimes one has to stop and appreciate the finer things in life. For instance, my apartment has incredible lighting and this morning my tea cupboard looked amazing! Maybe its due to all the coffee we have been getting from heart! either way, here is a beautiful photo of my life.

Nerds on the Road

January 21st, 2010

Ohhh yeah!  New branding never felt so good!  Check out what the kids over at Lost Logo Design came up with for our new, ahem, stuff seen here on the JGCrew blog.  Amber, the spear head of Lost Logo is a pretty cool chick and our web designer.  She’s been driving around the country in her win-a-buss-o and running the blog Nerds on the Road.  Sounds like she’s the perfect person to be helping us out, just don’t get lost girl!

Heres the new branding

jgcand this is the nerdy ride:

The Ladies

January 14th, 2010

As you may or may not know, both Sade and M.I.A. have released new singles with video.  I love both of these women, and their talents have shaped the music that we listen to on a day to day basis.  I’ve decided to post Sade’s new single, Soldier of Love, and dedicate it to all of my coffee shop patrons that walk in and ask me, “is this Sade?”   A voice that is beautiful and pure.

and the video rocks!
